On September 27, 1331, a thick fog covered the field. Polish army took advantage of this fact to take the Knights of the Teutonic Order by surprise. However, this plan succeeded only partially, and the Teutonic Knights took the fight, initially with cavalry and later with the support of their wagon train. The initial stage of the fight ended with the victory of the Poles, but then the arrive of Teutonic fresh forces forced the Poles to retreat.

Il 27 settembre del 1331 una spessa nebbia copriva il campo di battaglia. L’esercito polacco ne trasse vantaggio per prendere di sorpresa i cavalieri dell’Ordine Teutonico. Comunque il piano riusc? solo parzialmente e i cavalieri teutonici si ripresero l’iniziativa inizialmente con la cavalleria e successivamente supportati dai resto della colonna.
